Rio Olympics medal winners P V Sindhu and Sakshi Malikreceived only 1.66 per cent, for their preparation for the international sporting event, of the Rs 36.85 crore spent by the government.
117 Olympians who took part under the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) launched last year.
Under TOPS, the government spent Rs 61.13 lakh on Sindhu and Malik, the report added.
According to the report, of the total amount under TOPS, Rs 6.36 crore was spent on disciplines – badminton (Rs 3.84 crore) and wrestling (Rs 2.52 crore) – that did net India medals.
45.27 lakh went to badminton silver medal-winner Sindhu and Rs 15.86 lakh to wrestling bronze medal-winner Sakshi.

Ratan Tata invests in food-tech start-up IdeaChakki

Idea Chakki, a food-tech venture, has raised money from Ratan Tata.
The Delhi-based start-up, however, did not disclose the quantum raised. The company also partnered with Enablers for their next round of funding.
Idea Chakki has been founded by Monica Narula, Noopur Tiwari and Gunjan Mehrish — three former NDTV executive swith over 20 years of television experience.
Currently targeting premium restaurants in Delhi NCR, the start-up aims to expand its operations in the country and plans to set up its first international office in Paris.

China, Russia to stage military drills in South China Sea

New access control highway between Delhi and Jaipur will enable the commuters to cover the distance of 270 km between the two cities in just two hours.
Mr Gadkari said that land acquisition for this new highway will begin soon and suggested that Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar should promote development along both sides of this highway so as to bring down the cost.
