Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released notification for Common Recruitment Examination in Regional Rural Banks of India (RRBs). The Application Process of which has started from September 14, 2016. This year, IBPS has revised the Scheme of Examination. The Institute has introduced Preliminary and Mains Examination in the scheme of Officers Scale I and Office Assistants (Multipurpose) examination. The IBPS RRB 2016 New Exam Pattern has been explained below in a detailed manner.

IBPS RRB 2016 – Revised Scheme of Examination as per posts

The Online Examination of IBPS RRB 2016 for recruitment of candidates to the post of Group A – Officers (Scale I, II & III) and Group B – Office Assistants (Multipurpose) will be conducted in November and December 2016. For the Posts of Office Assistants (Multipurpose)

Selection Procedure

  • The candidates applying to the post of Office Assistants (Multipurpose) will have to appear for the Preliminary Examination first.
  • Shortlisted candidates in the Preliminary Examination will appear for the Mains Examination.
  • On the basis of the marks obtained in the Mains Examination, candidates will be provided allotment to any one of the participating RRBs.

Exam Pattern

  • The Preliminary Examination will be objective type test.
  • The Total marks allotted to the test is 80
  • There will be two sections – Numerical Ability and Reasoning comprising of 40 questions in each section.
  • There is a composite time of 45 minutes
  • The Mains Examination will be conducted for 200 marks. There will be 5 sections in the exam.
  • There is also provision of negative marking.

For the post of Officer Scale I

Selection Procedure

  • The Selection Procedure for the post of Officer Scale I will include – Preliminary, Mains and Interview
  • Candidates qualifying the Preliminary Examination will appear for the Mains Examination. Subsequently, the candidates qualifying the Mains Examination will be called for the Interview.
  • Shortlisted candidates in the Interview will be provided provisional allotment.

Exam Pattern

  • The Preliminary Examination will be conducted for 80 marks comprising of 80 questions.
  • There will be two sections – Numerical Ability and Reasoning in the Preliminary Examination.
  • The Mains Examination will comprise of 5 sections – Reasoning, English, Hindi language, Numerical Ability and Computer Proficiency.
  • There will be negative marking in the examination.
  • The Total Marks Allotted for the Interview is 100.

For the posts of Officers Scale II and III

Selection Procedure

  • Candidates applying to the post of Officers Scale II (Generalist and Specialist Officer) and III will have to appear for a single online examination.
  • Candidates shortlisted through single online examination will be called to appear for an interview.

Exam Pattern

  • The Single Online Examination will consist of objective type questions.
  • There will be five sections – Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation, Financial Awareness, English Language and Hindi Language and Computer Proficiency.
  • The test for all the posts will carry 200 marks.
  • There will be negative marking in the examination.
